Santa Marta Cistern was built between 1924 and 1925 and connected to the Filettole aqueduct system. The structure consists of an outer masonry shell with a gabled roof supported by wooden trusses, enclosing two reinforced concrete tanks originally designed for the collection and distribution of water. Following its restoration, the site now houses a Water Documentation Center, dedicated to the history of the relationship between Pisa and its water resources. Through the use of informative panels, audiovisual content, and multimedia technologies, the center explores the evolution of the water system in the Pisan territory from historic aqueducts to modern-day infrastructure. Barbagianni Bastion, hidden for decades behind dense vegetation, can now be seen in all its imposing glory. It was built in the 16th century as the plaque it bears, dedicated to Cosimo I de’ Medici, testifies. The name Barbagianni (or barn owls) is believed to derive from the presence of these birds in the area. The area features elms, laurels and privets, plants that are resilient to limited water availability and possess broad canopies, providing ample shade as well as food for local birds. The Walls of Pisa serve as an important ecological corridor for small to medium-sized mammals, small reptiles and various bird species. Using camera traps the following species have been observed: common geckos and Moorish geckos, wall lizards, hedgehogs, European robins, blackbirds, Eurasian blackcaps, magpies, mice, young rats, cats, beech martens and foxes. Following the cleaning and restoration work on the bastion, the first pollinators have also been spotted among the wild-growing flowers. The goal of the restoration was to preserve the existing environmental balance, ensuring that every living creature could find its own space within the bastion. Throughout the green area, piles of stones have been arranged to create safe spaces and various shelters for animals. Access is included in the ticket of Pisa Walls, opening hours are the same but they close one hour earlier.

On Saturday 31st october, Parlascio Bastion hosts 'I danni del tabacco', a theatrical performance inspired by Anton Chekhov’s one-act play. Pisa Half Marathon and Pisa Walls promote the city's tourist and cultural attractions. During the event weeken, from Friday 9th October to Sunday 11th October 11, anyone presenting their race bib at one of the five entrances to the Walls (including family members) will be entitled to a special ticket price of €4 instead of €5.

On Saturday 10th October, Pisa Walls Trail will participate in 'Geodiversity Week' with an event titled 'Seeking the stone' organized by Pisa University. Following a brief introduction about the main types of stone used to build the Walls, participants will be divided into teams to take part in a fun competition. “Pisa Card ” is now available for purchase, granting access to the city’s museums and monuments. Includes admission to Palazzo Blu (permanent collection), Medieval Walls, Museum of Ancient Ships, National Museum of the Royal Palace, National Museum of San Matteo, Certosa di Calci monumental complex,  Botanical Garden and Museum, “Edda Bresciani” Egyptological Collections, Museum of Graphics. The card costs €24 and entitles the holder to one entry at each of the participating museums and cultural sites. Children under the age of 8 and people with disabilities are exempt from payment. For tourists, the card is valid for one week, the intended usage period must be specified at the time of purchase. The Pisa Card is issued in electronic format and can be purchased online at pisacard.pisamo.it. The card must be validated at the entrance of each museum or cultural venue using the designated QR code scanners. Additionally, the card includes one hour of free use of “Ciclopi” bicycles, with the option to pause the service while stopping to visit the museums. It does not replace standard tickets for individual museums, which remain valid and retain their independently established rates.
